Back Pain & Sciatica Treatment in Kings Hill
Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit an osteopath, and one of the most frustrating to live with. Whether it came on suddenly lifting at the gym, has built up from long hours at a desk, or keeps flaring up despite rest, we can help you understand what's going on and build a plan to get you moving confidently again.
At DCM Clinics in Kings Hill, we combine hands-on osteopathic treatment with objective testing and structured rehab. We don't just ease the pain for a few days. We find out why it keeps coming back and work on fixing that.
What We Help With
• Acute lower back pain and spasms
• Recurring or long-standing back pain
• Sciatica and nerve-related leg pain
• Disc-related back pain
• Back pain linked to training, lifting or running
• Stiffness and pain from sitting or desk work
Our Approach: Assess. Build. Re-test.
Assess. Your first session starts with a thorough assessment of your history, symptoms and how your spine and hips move. Using VALD technology such as HumanTrak movement analysis and ForceDecks force plates, we can measure how you move and load, rather than relying on guesswork. Back pain is often linked to how the hips and trunk share load, so we look at the whole picture.
Build. We combine hands-on treatment to ease pain and stiffness with a progressive rehab programme tailored to you, whether your goal is getting through the working day comfortably or returning to heavy lifting.
Re-test. We repeat your measurements as you progress, so you can see your improvement in real numbers and know when you're ready to step things up.
Sciatica
Sciatica is pain that travels from the lower back or buttock down the leg, sometimes with pins and needles or numbness. It's usually caused by irritation of a nerve in the lower back. We assess what's driving your symptoms, help calm things down, and gradually rebuild your tolerance to sitting, walking and exercise.
When to Seek Urgent Help
Some symptoms need urgent medical attention rather than osteopathy. Contact your GP, call 111 or go to A&E straight away if your back pain comes with:
• Numbness around the groin, buttocks or genitals
• New difficulty passing urine or controlling your bladder or bowels
• Weakness in both legs, or rapidly worsening weakness
• Unexplained weight loss, fever, or a history of cancer
If we think you need further investigation, we'll tell you and refer you on.
Why Choose DCM Clinics?
• Data-led care: objective testing with VALD technology, not guesswork
• Experienced clinicians: led by Danny Mace, registered osteopath and former Head of Rehabilitation at the European School of Osteopathy
• Rehab that continues beyond the treatment table, so you stay better
• Early and evening appointments six days a week
